Unlike the other blog posts, this is going to be more of a little update. I
fell asleep at 9:30pm after a long week and now I’m having a bout of insomnia
but then I thought: when else other than at 4am am I going to be available to
write a blog post!
Where? We are finally in France. After vagabonding all over
the place, we have finally arrived at our destination, however we’re nowhere
close to being settled.
We were supposed to temporarily live with my uncles on a beautiful old farm in Provence
but they experienced delayed with their heavy constructions/renovations so
sadly we couldn’t. God hasn’t failed to take care of us though because the day
after we received that news, an (amazing) Anglo-French Christian lady which we
had met last year invited us out of the blue to come stay with her and her
family for a few days. It was exactly what we needed as we were so encouraged
by this new first friend! Then we found out that a distant cousin who lives in
Montpellier was going on holiday and was availing his appartement for us. The
timing couldn’t be more perfect. The renovations on the farm has since then hit
greater obstacles and sadly that door has closed. This has led us to pray about
the next step and we have decided to book an Airbnb in Montpellier until the
end of the month.
What? The church in the South of France is what we
are here for in the first place. In light of that, we visited a church in Nimes
last Sunday, and it was absolutely amazing. To give context, we had met and fellowshipped
with some of the leaders of that church last year and have been in
communication with them. So it was very special to be able to join their Sunday
service. Their congregation was so full of joy and love, a true celebration was
felt in worship, and we had the privilege of being prayed for in person. This Sunday
we visit one of their sister churched in Montpellier.
How? How we are doing… we’re alive! My blog Ceci
n’est pas très comfortable pour moi give lots more details on the state of
our souls, but in a nutshell: we are not very comfortable. Moving around so
much is tiring and we’re longing for a new home. Our characters are being
challenged by our situation and we would appreciate prayer. We are actively
looking for an appartement in Montpellier all whilst discerning which suburb
God wants us to live in.
Prayer Points:
>For Grace – lots of grace during this transitional period. That God
would transform our siff characters.
>For clear guidance in which suburb to settle in and which church to join.
